New for 2016!

This luxury three-bedroom, two bathroom chalet is a fantastic choice for a winter or summer holiday in the mountains. The fabulous, uniquely-shaped and fully-windowed dining area is mirrored in the master bedroom below and allows you to fully immerse yourself in the stunning mountain scenery. The chalet is right next to the “bisses” in the summer with direct access to the start point of hundreds of kilometers of biking and hiking trails. Ideal for couples, groups and families seeking a peaceful mountain retreat with the option for plenty of action-packed activities on the doorstep.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The master(double) bedroom has amazing 270-degree windows with one-touch electric blinds to easily shutter out the external world and provide a more intimate setting. There is also an en-suite shower room. Also on the lower (bedroom) floor is a double/twin room and a third bedroom fitted with bunk beds for two people. A second, family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower is situated on the bedroom floor. If you wish to travel with children under 2 years old, just let us know and we will provide a cot and a high chair in your chalet.

In the kitchen you will find all the basics: a fridge and an oven with hob. A kettle, microwave, toaster and coffee-machine, plus fondue and raclette sets for a traditional Swiss evening in front of the log fire. A hairdryer, iron and portable outdoor barbecue are all available for you to use and there is a washing machine available for you to use. A ski and boot storage provides the perfect solution to storing your ski equipment, ready for the next day.

Sitting around the table in the feature window area discussing the exploits of the day or your plans for tomorrow could be relaxation enough! Alternatively, you can choose to relax in the large living / dining area, watch the flat-screen TV or listen to music, or simply sit on the balcony and admire the beautiful panoramic views that face the chalet. On a blue-sky day, the view stretches 20km, up to the peaks of the Haut de Cry and the Mont Gond. The chalet grounds border a forested area, which in summer fills the air with delightful birdsong. Sitting at the garden table you can while away the hours watching the tiny cars far away in the valley as they hurry between appointments in the distant towns and cities.

Chalet Catherine is equipped with free WIFI for your own private use.

We’re sorry but this is a pet-free property. Please browse our selection of pet-friendly rentals if you would like to travel with your pet.

The chalet is a short 1.5km (1 mile) drive to the Etablons Roundabout, where you will find the main piste, the Babylift carpet and the Etablons Chairlift, along with an apres-ski bar and the bus-stop to take you into the resort centre. The main piste leads down from this roundabout to the Savoleyres telecabin. The modern high-speed telecabin carries you from La Tzoumaz up to the top of the Savoleyres in less than 8 minutes, from where you can decide to ski back on the quiet La Tzoumaz slopes or ski down to Verbier’s legendary slopes and world-class off-piste opportunities in the vast 4-Valleys ski area.

To be eligible for the 10% discount, ski-passes must be ordered and paid in full 12 days in advance of your first ski day. We accept all major credit cards. In summer, the area turns into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with hundreds of kilometres of marked trails criss-crossing the mountains, awash with alpine flowers and a range of wildlife to spot. Chalet Ard is right next to the Maison de la Foret with its wildlife exhibitions and its Five Senses Nature Trail, along with the starting point of many beautiful hikes. The “Bisses” are relatively flat footpaths that follow the water as it trickles around the mountainsides, where for centuries farmers and villagers channelled the streams for their own uses. They have been preserved now and can be an incredible way to spend a day or more on easy hikes with stunning views across the Rhone Valley or over to the Massif des Combins. We’ll provide you with plenty of tourist information including our favourite suggestions for day trips that are easily reachable from La Tzoumaz, from spectacular gorge walks, cheese factories and roman festivals to rainy-day ideas such as underground lake tours. The road that winds up the mountain-top to the panoramic Croix-de-Coeur Cafe-Restaurant opens as soon as the snow melts and from here you can continue the drive (or cycle) all the way down into Verbier.

In the peak summer season from early July to late August, the telecabin link to Verbier operates daily from 08:45 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:45, meaning that you can easily access the famous resort as a pedestrian or accompanied by your bicycle. You can even use a variety of mountain lifts to make your way up to Mont Fort at 3300m for Europe’s highest fondue and incredible mountain panoramas that include Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. Don’t miss the Swiss National Celebrations in La Tzoumaz on August 1st, or the famous festival of live music performances, the Verbier Festival, which runs from mid-July to the beginning of August.

Stunning Chalet indeed!!! We a family of 4 with 2 adult sons stayed in Chalet Catherine from 19/12/2016 till 27/12/2016 and had an amazing holiday. The Chalet is everything you can wish for , set in a stunning position with great views and has privacy. We never grew tired of looking out of the window while having breakfast and after a full day skiing it was great to come back to such luxury , a chalet that is always warm thanks to the under floor heating and lovely log fire. Chalet is equipped with everything you need and we cooked every night in the well equipped kitchen. The beds all have extremely good mattresses and lovely duvets. Bathrooms are as described and we used the provided washing machine daily. Janni from the the agency provided a table grill , raclette set and hairdryer on request and service was excellent. We would have liked access to a boot room to store/dry our ski boots after skiing , I assume it was a locked room downstairs but am not sure , ski's we left in the car ,but storing skiboots in entrance hall was not ideal. Chalet is a short distance to the ski lift and lift takes you up swiftly to local ski area ,although there had been little snowfall , all pistes were well groomed , most days we travelled to the Verbier area ( approx 40 min trip using lift and bus system available) We had a dream holiday in Chalet Catherine and would recommend it without any hesitation!!! Amazing Views! Peaceful, Safe, Clean, Comfortable! Our stay was for two - the house was beatiful, had amazing views, is in a peaceful setting with the sounds of Switzerland all around, felt completely safe even with the bedroom blinds open at night, extremely clean, comfortable living! The only thing to mention, it took us over an hour researching how to operate the washer, before we realized the water was turned off, and then we had no dryer to dry clothes - uncertain if the dryer is integrated into one unit or if there isn't one, but if integrated, we couldn't figure out operation! Breathtaking This property from the drive from Geneva, arrival at La Tzoumaz, to the departure was all that we could hope for. The only improvement we could suggest would be to offer some English brochures in the area. To be clear we had no disappointments in the property condition, views, and the amenities. Anna and Percy did a fabulous job!!! Review Submitted: Sep 7, 2016 Date of Stay: Aug 2016 Source: VRBO, from HomeAway By: Brian G.

House to feel good Very nice well maintained chalet above a small village. It sleeps 6 people and is equipped with everything which contributes to a relaxing holiday. The house has large panoramic windows, so you have a breathtaking view of the mountains. In the summer you can go directly from the chalet to explore the surrounding area. More remote targets are e.g. The Matterhorn, the Arletsch Glacier, the Mont Blanc, Lake Geneva .... In the village you can find a small supermarket where you can buy everything for everyday needs. The small towns in the Rhone Valley invite you to stroll with old culture and nice shops. After beautiful hikes over colorful mountain pastures in the summer and snowshoe hikes or skiing in the winter, a crackling fireplace fire invites you to end an eventful holiday day. Breath taking peaceful retreat ! We stayed for six nights and loved every minute of it. The views were breathtaking and the house was very comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking and baking. The access to trails are within walking distance. The local market is within driving distance and has quite a selection of groceries. We cooked every meal so I cannot speak for the restaurants in town. There was a Catholic Church in la tzoumaz so Sunday mass was not a problem. Truly a lovely home and such a treat for us to rent at such a reasonable rate. I highly recommend this place! Fantastic chalet with wonderful views A very tastefully furnished chalet with a fantastic view over the valley and mountains. The large fireplace is very cozy and spreads a comfortable atmosphere in the large and high living room. The chalet is a home for recreation seekers, connoisseurs, hobby chefs and ski holidaymakers. About 10 minutes walk away is the cable car station and a small supermarket. We will definitely come back and look forward to the next visit. La Tzoumaz

La Tzoumaz

The 4-Valleys is one of the largest interconnected ski-areas in Europe, with lifts linking La Tzoumaz to Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon.  Altogether there are over 400km of pistes that cater for different levels of skiers.  Beginners can follow long gentle trails (which in Switzerland are marked out in blue instead of green or blue) that wind around the mountainside, never going too steeply.  Intermediates benefit from many long reds pistes, with up to 1,800m of height change between the top and the bottom of the lifts.  For experts, not only are there numerous steep black runs, but also clearly-marked yet un-pisted yellow itinerary routes, where the snow conditions will test your skills to the full.  There is a vast expanse of off-piste skiing where the local guides can show you how to access the freshest powder and the famous routes that include those used during the World Freeride Championships.

In summer, the area turns into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with hundreds of kilometres of marked trails criss-crossing the mountains, awash with alpine flowers and a range of wildlife to spot.

We love the fact that we are just next door to Verbier.  We don’t promise to offer you lots of trendy resort bars and restaurants within walking distance of your chalet, but in the daytime our high-speed telecabin links you to the resort of Verbier, its mountain restaurants and its vast skiing network known as the Four Valleys.  We can even arrange for you to spend the night partying in Verbier and shuttle you home when dawn breaks or when you are ready for sleep.  Here’s a glimpse of what is out there:
