General

Highlights

A luxurious and conveniently-located Penthouse in central La Tzoumaz Penthouse les Telecabines is situated at the foot of the main piste, and a few steps from the village centre. Fully refurbished in 2017/18, this 4-bedroom property is ideal for extended family or a group of friends. The stunning views from both the front and rear balconies are breathtaking, and the south-facing balcony is fully glass-enclosed comprising 2 sections: an upstairs chill-out/relaxing zone accessed off two of the bedrooms with comfy sofas and chairs; and a lower area which makes a wonderful (and large) second dining area complete with a beautiful chandelier and those amazing views. The newly-refurbished kitchen / dining area is perfect for swapping stories of the day’s challenges over a traditional mountain raclette or fondue, and the high-ceilinged living room is a great place to gather around the open fireplace and plan the next day’s mountain adventures.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

This four-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment comfortably sleeps 8 adults. All bedrooms and bathrooms have been fully refurbished and there is brand new, beautifully comfortable solid wood furniture in all bedrooms. There is a master double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (WC, bath and overhead shower) and a twin bedroom with en-suite shower room. A second twin bedroom shares the third bathroom (WC and shower) with a bunk bedroom (fitted with two 90cm x 200cm beds). If you wish to travel with children under 2 years old, just let us know and we will provide a cot and a high chair for your apartment.

Equipment

The kitchen was fitted in 2017 and is fully equipped with everything you might need for family or group catering, including a dishwasher, microwave, electric filter ccoffee machine, Nespresso and Dolce Gusto coffee machines, kettle, toaster, oven, hob and separate freezer. There are fondue and raclette sets for a traditional Swiss evening in front of the beautiful views and a wine chiller fridge in the outer dining area. A hairdryer, iron, and communal washing machine/dryer are all available for you to use.

Relaxing

From your lofty, elevated position on top of the resort, you can admire La Tzoumaz’ stunning panoramic views to the front and the rear of the Penthouse. The building next door houses the resort swimming pool and saunas (open during high season, entrance fees apply) so you can unwind and relax after a hard day on the mountain. You’ll also get to see the hypnotic view of telecabins carrying skiers up and away if you decide not to go skiing yourself! On a blue-sky day, the view stretches 20km, from the floor of the Rhone Valley up to the peaks of the Haut de Cry and the Mont Gond, and in the other direction towards the legendary Vallon d’Arby and its un-pisted ski itinerary. If you are in need of distraction, there is a flat-screen TV with international channels and DVD player, so bring your favourite movies along.

Internet

Penthouse Les Telecabines is equipped with high-speed WIFI for your own private use during your stay. The TV package has a wide range of TV channels including the main UK TV channels, Sky News etc.

Parking

Underground parking for two cars in the basement with lift access that takes guests and luggage directly from the car park into apartment. Winter tyres and/or snow chains sometimes necessary in winter due to frequent snowfalls. Alternative parking is available at 300m for extra vehicles. Contact us for railway or airport transfers.

Winter

The Penthouse Apartment is situated at the foot of the main piste, by the telecabin.

The modern high-speed telecabin carries you from La Tzoumaz up to the top of the Savoleyres in less than 8 minutes, from where you can decide to ski back on the quiet La Tzoumaz slopes or ski down to Verbier’s legendary slopes and world-class off-piste opportunities in the vast 4-Valleys ski area.

Summer

In the peak summer season (from early July to late August), we provide you with free VIP pedestrian lift-passes, half-price mountain-bike daypasses and a range of other discounts.  The telecabin link to Verbier operates daily at this time of year from 08:45 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:45, meaning that you can easily access the famous resort as a pedestrian, or accompanied by your bicycle. You can even use a variety of mountain lifts to make your way up to Mont Fort at 3300m for Europe’s highest fondue and incredible mountain panoramas that include Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. 

In summer, the area turns into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with hundreds of kilometres of marked trails criss-crossing the mountains, awash with alpine flowers and a range of wildlife to spot. Visit the Maison de la Foret with its wildlife exhibitions and its Five Senses Nature Trail, and the starting point of many beautiful hikes. The “Bisses” are relatively flat footpaths that follow the water as it trickles around the mountainsides, where for centuries farmers and villagers channelled the streams for their own uses. They have been preserved now and can be an incredible way to spend a day or more on easy hikes with stunning views across the Rhone Valley or over to the Massif des Combins. We’ll provide you with plenty of tourist information including our favourite suggestions for day trips that are easily reachable from La Tzoumaz, from spectacular gorge walks, cheese factories and roman festivals to rainy-day ideas such as underground lake tours. The road that winds up the mountain-top to the panoramic Croix-de-Coeur Cafe-Restaurant opens as soon as the snow melts and from here you can continue the drive (or cycle) all the way down into Verbier. Don’t miss the Swiss National Celebrations in La Tzoumaz on August 1st, or the famous festival of live music performances, the Verbier Festival, which runs from mid-July to the beginning of August.

 

Booking details

The total price is composed of a one-off non-variable cost (per booking) to cover final cleaning, bed-linen & towels and other one-off fees, plus a nightly rental rate (per night) and nightly tourist taxes (per adult/child and per night), plus website fees (site-specific). This total price includes the following:

  • our warm welcome and support during your stay
  • WIFI
  • beds made up for your arrival with our bedsheets and towels
  • credit card charges
  • electricity & heating
  • final cleaning
  • tourist taxes for the number of adults/children stated at time of enquiry/booking.  Please note that due to the inclusion of tourist taxes in the calculation, the price varies according to the number of people who will stay.  Adults are classed as over 16 years, and children from 6 to 15 years.  At the time of booking there is no need to declare (or pay for) children under 6 years old on the date of travel, however please mention them in the “Special Requests” box so that we can include them in our arrival preparations.
  • free summer lift passes for the number of adults/children stated at time of booking (early July to late August 2019)
  • the opportunity to buy discounted lessons (10%) and rental (15%) and have them ready for your arrival (conditions apply) after booking a winter holiday with us (December 2018 to April 2019).

Not included in the price:

  • We do not debit or hold any money for the breakage deposit – instead you will be asked to sign a credit card slip on arrival for use in case of breakage unpaid at departure (up to 1000 CHF).  The slip will be destroyed when no unpaid damage is found after your departure. 
  • Firewood (22 CHF per 20-25kg crate from the agency, or from the supermarket)
  • Dogs not allowed
  • Only the exit cleaning is included in the base price – if you wish to have extra cleaning during your stay then this can be arranged on request. Bedding and towels are provided for your arrival – if you require a change of bedding and towels during your stay then this can be arranged for 22CHF per person.
  • Standard arrival is from 16h00, and departure is by 10h00.  Early Arrival from 14h00 can be purchased for 50CHF up to one week in advance of Saturday arrivals in winter and peak summertime.

We operate a strictly “first-paid = first-reserved” basis for bookings so we cannot guarantee availability beyond what you see on this online booking portal and so we recommend you confirm within 48h in order to secure the reservation. You can book and pay by credit card right now through the secure online booking portal using the link on this page.  50% of the total amount is due upon reservation and the remainder is payable 2 months before arrival. In case of cancellation: Up to 2 months before arrival (or upon resale) the fee is 15%. Up to 1 month / 80%, thereafter / 90%.

    We stayed in the fabulous Penthouse Les Telecabines.  This apartment was so lovely – modern, clean, warm, comfy, stylish and I loved the decor. It was like Home from Home. The open layout of the apartment was ideal as we were in a large group and everyone could easily relax but still feel included in the group whether you sat in the lounge/dining area or in the kitchen. The location was superb, the lift station was literally 3 mins walk away and we were able to ski right to the back door!  I have done years of skiing and have never stayed in such central accommodation as this. The supermarket is minutes away and the bar is opposite so great for early après.  The boot room is in the basement and the Penthouse lift takes you right up to the apartment with ease.  The car park is also in the same building so everything is so convenient. The service was excellent – if we needed anything – the Team were very efficient and professional and helped with any queries/concerns. The property was light, modern, spacious, very clean and tidy.  We were a large party but we always had plenty of hot water to enjoy daily showers and baths to  soothe our muscles. As I said before the Penthouse is fabulous nestled in to the mountain side set in a beautiful Swiss resort.  The skiing is extensive and enjoyable for families and experienced skiers – you can ski easily into Verbier.  I would fully recommend this Penthouse and the resort 100% and can’t wait to return.

    Fantastique! This is the most perfectly situated place, beautiful furnished and well equipped. With direct access in the flat by lift and ski and boot storage downstairs. Ski back in from the back and a minute to the telecabine. Could not be more perfect. Everything was spotless. Parking immediately underneath in covered garage, could not have been easier.

    Perfect in every way. The apartment is perfectly situated in the village, with easy access to the ski slopes using the lift which takes you from your apartment to the ski storage and then only metres to the ski lift. when not skiing the swimming pool and massage facilities are readily available should a day off be needed. The apartment is setup to be able to sleep minimum of 9 people in comfort, with indoor/outdoor dining areas for entertaining your friends. There is a new well laid out kitchen and large flat screen TV for relaxing in front of. We had a superb time and would use the apartment again if we have the opportunity. The resort is perfect as the snow remains in perfect condition even when neighbouring Verbier slopes are slushy. Its also at the start of a moderately challenging backcountry ski route up the hill if you're feeling energetic. The ski schools in town are really friendly as is the ski rental. Well worth a stay if you are luck enough to find an slot in the holidays.

    The Penthouse is ideally located next to the ski lift so you can ski in and out, plus it has all the surrounding amenities that you need to enjoy your stay. The Penhouse Les Telecabin building has parking plus a boot and ski room, and key lift access to the apartment, which is beautifully furnished and has a lovely homely feel. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay, and deceptively spacious. We had a great time, and thoroughly enjoyed the ease of the apartment as well as the skiing in La Tzoumaz and having access to Verbier as well.

    The building is next to the main skilift, close to supermarket and bakery, great view. The building is rather old, build in the seventies but all facilities are available. Ski room downstairs and washing room, bakery is right under the building, supermarket closeby and skilift around the corner. If the sun shines, the balcony is a very nice spot to sit and enjoy the warmth and sun. The view on the other side of the living room is stunning and beautiful. The appartment is redecorated but not quite finished yet.

    The apartment is really well located, above the bakery and right next to the ski lifts, which meant we could walk everywhere and get on the first lifts on the powder days! It has underground parking which is a bonus. (Check the height if you have skis on your roof!) There is also underground storage for skis and boots. It is spacious but cosy, particularly the sitting area. It also has a very well equipped kitchen and we had a lovely and relaxing stay. Thank you!
